California sends child-appeal cannabis packaging restrictions to governor

California lawmakers sent AB 2249 to the governor after defining child-attractive cannabis packaging to include cartoons, youth-associated characters, candy imagery and bubble-style lettering. If enacted, the restrictions would begin Jan. 1, 2028, giving Oklahoma brands that sell or plan to license products across states a concrete packaging redesign and compliance benchmark.
