CDC proposes adding marijuana-use reasons to 2028 national health survey

CDC’s draft 2028 National Health Interview Survey would ask adults how often they use marijuana and whether they use it for pain, nausea, mental health, sleep, other medical reasons or recreation. Oklahoma operators and researchers could gain a standardized national demand-segmentation dataset if adopted, while the proposal remains open for public comment under docket CDC-2026-1387.
